The miracle of coming in from the cold

It’s cold.  Really, really cold.  That won’t surprise anyone who lives in the northeast or has been watching the news.  I heard the number “37 below” go by at one point today.  That’s just too darn cold.

However I live in an apartment that is ALWAYS toasty warm.  I don’t have control over the thermostat, so it’s often a little too toasty…but today, I couldn’t be happier.

I went outside and my nostrils stuck together.  I came in and breathed a nice, deep, warm sigh of relief.

Everyone once in a while I’m reminded yet again of how incredibly lucky I am – even on the days when I feel “poor” I still have more material comforts than most people in the world.

Today I give thanks again and again for living where I do, how I do, and in the great comfort that I do.

On another note – I added a “Share Your Miracle!” page in the navigation above.  Please take a moment to share a miracle that you’ve experienced recently.  Come back and do it often!  I’ll be reading them all and posting some periodically.  I want to turn it into a regular feature, so please tell me all about them!  🙂
