Despite my note yesterday that said I’d have lots to write about today, I’ve spent most of the day curled up watching movies and praying that my body will fight off whatever is trying to take hold. Sadly, my energy and focus are not much better tonight than they were last night, so I’m not going to try to plumb the depths of anything important.
Instead – have you ever used StumbleUpon? It’s internet browsing on steroids. It’s an internet widget that shows you random pages from the internet in whatever areas of interest you specify.
When I first discovered Stumble several years ago, I would stay up late into the night, promising myself that I’d only hit the button… one… more… time… I promise……. Now, I don’t even tempt myself. I know all too well the hours that can be lost to the allure of finding that next great page. But on days like today, when I’m laying low and have nothing better to do, I let myself wander corridors of the internet that otherwise I wouldn’t even know existed. Here are some of my delightful finds from today’s session with StumbleUpon.
Here’s a cartoon that made me laugh – http://media.threadless.com/imgs/products/467/636x460design_01.jpg
This is a video that I found really inspiring – a young pianist with no fingers on one hand (I wouldn’t have believed it possible until I saw it) – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbhW_K3NvmQ
This is an incredibly inspiring piece of public art that fills me with hope and excitement – http://candychang.com/before-i-die-in-nola/
