The Miracle Challenge, day #10

The last few days I’ve had the pleasure of driving some beautiful country roads in Vermont and New Hampshire to do interviews for the newspaper.  Although the interviews were interesting, the driving was infinitely better because it’s foliage time!

It’s a beautiful miraculous day! I can hardly wait to see what will come from your Challenge posts today! :-)

Happy weekend everybody!

It’s been several years since I realized that I couldn’t watch television news anymore – too disturbing, left with me too many scary images and paranoid thoughts. I figured if there was news that was important, it would find me.

These last few days I’ve been finding that I’m starting to react to the television shows that I watch and the books that I read in the same way. I’m having to be much more careful about what I put in my head. It’s not because I get scared or upset – it’s because I start thinking more negatively and with more fear of scarcity when I take in things that focus on the seamy side of life.

I feel like I’ve been clearing a bunch of stuff out, and it’s because of that clearing that I’m clean enough to recognize this new level of sensitivity to input. There will probably be a bit of mourning for an old way of life, but I’d rather have space in my head for more pleasant and abundant thoughts, so I suppose it’s a fair trade off.

Had a visit from my younger son, daughter-in-law and their 2 girls yesterday. They are expecting again! New life, a new addition to our family, what a miracle!

@Leah: I love this post about finding that you need to be more careful about what you put into your head because you have become more sensitive thanks to clearing some old stuff out. How comforting to read this and understand this experience that I too have had through your words. My words were that what happens inside my head is so much higher quality than what the media have to off that I prefer to honor myself by keeping some distance from low quality sitmuli. That’s why when I visit the web I read the Miracle Journal, heehee.
