The Miracle Challenge, day #12

Happy Monday, Challenge Mates!

I had a great weekend, but in terms of The Miracle Journal and The Challenge, it was a bit of a dud.

Why was it great? Well, on Saturday I had the opportunity to hang out with my mom all day.  We used to do this a lot, but lately it’s become less and less common due to our busy lives. A day together is really special, especially when we have as much fun as I had with her on Saturday.

I know it's kind of sacrilegious, but this made me laugh hard when I saw it. 🙂

On Sunday I cleaned my apartment. But when I say cleaned, I don’t just mean cleaned. I mean CLEANED.  I dusted, people.  I’m thinking back to the last time I dusted my whole apartment, and I think it was approximately…never.  I’ve been here three years and this is probably the cleanest it’s been since the day I moved in.

All of which left very little time for The Miracle Journal. Actually, let me correct that – there could have been plenty of time either day, but I didn’t make the time for it.

But here we are on Monday morning – a new day, a new week, a new chance to start fresh.

If you started the Miracle Challenge and have dropped off over the last week, that’s fine! Climb back on the horse with me.  If you never started but you want to now, that’s great too!  Click here for information.

The key is this – IT’S ALL OKAY.  No need to beat ourselves up or feel bad.  Let’s just start again fresh.

I’m looking forward to hearing about your miracles.  And I know for sure that there are some great ones headed my way this week!!  🙂

Bluebirds all weekend, and again this morning, in the yard. I always feel so blessed to have them visit — there is nothing else like that flash of blue, and they are so much fun to watch flitting around. A miracle indeed!

Spent the weekend with two of my girls who are in college down in NC. Not only are children miracles, but when you realize what wonderful adults they have become, WOW…parental love is indeed a miracle!

Getting back on the challenge horse today! I thought of my challenge for the past 4 days but never seemed to make time to log-in and post.
Miracle from Saturday: My husband was stressing out about something on Saturday morning. In a mindless state, I felt the anger and frustration in me well up. Then, cool as ever, I watched my mindfulness kick in! My Goddess Voice said “we don’t have to go there with him, let’s chillax and stay centered.” How awesome is that?! It was really easy to do once I became mindful.
Miracle for Monday: While balancing my checkbook this morning, my cat hopped on the desk and walked all over the keyboard of the laptop. With his loud, strong purr and his tail swishing under my nose, I couldn’t resist ceasing my work to be with him. I put the laptop and checkbook aside and spent time loving on my kittycat.

Leah – I like the graphics you find to match your daily topic. 🙂

Welcome back everyone! And thanks Susan – I have fun looking for little cartoons and pictures. 🙂

Financial miracle for the day – in cleaning out my apartment this weekend, I found several things that I don’t use anymore. Or never did – things that are brand new. I’m thinking that if I list them on Craigslist or one of the trading pages on Facebook, I could probably sell them and get a little bit of cash to put toward credit cards. It still feels a little intimidating and scary to do it, but I see the possibility and it feels good.

Here’s a crazy thought that goes with that, though – if those things are still sitting in my apartment, they represent the POSSIBILITY of money. If I actually sell them, they’re gone; I put the money toward its intended use and it’s also gone. Which for some reason I’m telling myself is a loss because then there’s no more “possibility”. That’s definitely a little niggling of CRAZY that requires some investigation. So there’s another miracle – seeing another weird form that crazy takes. 🙂

Oh – and I officially quit NetFlix a few days ago. One less recurring monthly expense.
