A few days after Evie’s death in a fire, MBE sent me a poem that was absolutely perfect in the moment. It is written by a poet and teacher from the Southwest named Darshan. It reads:
There is nothing like
the burning bridge
the road Ahead.
In light of what had happened to Evie, I cried buckets when I read that.
Tonight MBE shared another one of Darshan’s poems with me that speaks to exactly where I am in the moment. It reads:
who does not
See You As God
…is not your Teacher.
I have an update to share after last night’s Pity Party, however I am a bit too sleepy to give the subject its full due, so I will wait until tomorrow.
Until then, here’s are two pictures of The Best Baby In The World from tonight.
