The last week has been a bit of a roller coaster, but on the plus side I’ve been SUPER productive!
For the first time this week I had three front-page features at the newspaper in one week. I was really proud of each of them, too, which made it even it feel like a real accomplishment.
About six weeks ago my high school asked me to do some freelance writing for them. Over the last week I turned in my first three pieces for them. It’s a real honor to be writing for my alma mater, a place that had a significant hand in my personal development.
This weekend I was supposed to go out of town, but had to cancel due to high winds (my friend and I agreed that highway driving didn’t seem safe.) That meant I had an unexpected weekend to work on a couple of projects.
I’ve been wanting to create an online writing portfolio for a while. Now that I have some freelance writing work (and would love to get some more), it seems even more important. It isn’t done yet, but here are the beginnings: http://www.themiraclejournal.com/writing-portfolio.
You’ll have to wait another few days for the other thing, but I promise it’s going to be worth it!
As for fun… last weekend I spent a day with some friends and we made sushi for lunch. That was my first experience and it was so much easier than I expected that I decided to make my first solo foray into sushi making today. Last weekend we did all vegetables. This weekend I used some cooked meats (nothing raw – I still prefer to leave that to the restaurant chefs!)
It was quite fun. Here are some pics:
