I remember hearing a story from a couple that had been to a shaman to do some journeying work. Neither of them spoke throughout the process, but at one point in the middle of the session the woman let out a little giggle. When the session ended, the man looked at her and said, “Why did you laugh at me?” She said, “You looked so silly when you hit your head.” Then they both laughed.
Apparently, even though their eyes were closed and they weren’t speaking, they shared exactly the same journeying experience – as if they had the same dream. This miracle from Jennifer Lyall reminds me a bit of that:
We recently renovated our basement which includes one main room that serves as our entertainment centre, my home office and my healing space. We completely gutted this room and my husband and I did all of the work with some help from our children, so all of our energy and love went into this room.
I really wanted to shift the way the room felt, and I was consciously choosing what I wanted to include in the space, wanting to keep it simple. As I was contemplating what to put on the walls, I decided that I was going to ask my son to paint a couple of pictures for me, one of a rainbow heart and a picture with angels. He loves art, but I decided to wait until I bought the canvas before I told him, because I know that once he gets inspiration, he likes to go and create right away.
In the meantime, I was going through my office materials and decided that I wanted to keep a small magnetic white board above my desk, but I wanted to transform the way it looked, so I glued rocks and crystals around the perimeter to make it more colourful and to better suit the environment I was creating.
My children helped me put the crystals on the whiteboard and by the time we were done, it was bed-time. My little artist asked if he could draw a picture on my white board. I tried to explain to him that it was bed time and also that I had papers that I was going to put up on the board, so his drawing was going to be covered up. He persisted and said he was going to just draw a heart. So I let him.
It wasn’t until the next day that I realized that he drew EXACTLY what I was going to ask him to paint and I didn’t even tell him about the pictures I was hoping he would paint for me!
The next day I apologized for rushing him, I thanked him and I told him this story.
It was an awesome little miracle, and everyday I look at my whiteboard and smile with delight!
