How much joy can you stand?

I’ve been on a fascinating learning curve over the last week or so (“fascinating” is another word for oh-my-god-this-roller-coaster-is-going-so-fast-and-I’m-not-sure-my-safety-belt-is-fastened.)

Completion

Yesterday afternoon I learned that the man who killed Evie passed away over the weekend. According to the attorney general, he died from complications of the burns he suffered in the attempted murder/suicide (you can click here for more information.)

The miracle of a broken heart

Father and daughter hold hands

Not calling Mr. Blue Eyes over the last week has taken every bit of will power I’ve got.  I miss talking to him and I’m fairly certain he’d be happy to hear from me.

Here’s the problem – every time I think about talking to him, I go straight into victim mode.  “If I say …

Salvaging from the wreckage

How to put this delicately?

Oh, never mind. This week has been f$%&ing  s?#!ty. (No, that wasn’t delicate…I guess I’ll go with “trying to pull off colorful.”) 🙂

Rather than trying to act like everything is rainbows and ponies, I thought I’d share some of the highlights and lowlights of the week.

Highlight – On …

My superhero power

It’s been a hard week. I feel empty. I feel sad. There are things that remind me of Mr. Blue Eyes everywhere.

I also noticed that I’ve been engaging in some bad behaviors this week. Most notably, I’ve been fantasizing that we’ll get back together, even after he has made it clear that it isn’t …

Going sane, part 2

At the end of August, I wrote about going sane. It was a phrase that I heard one night as I sat in a circle of women, spoken by a beautiful young woman who was full of love and vitality.

I have come back to that concept over and over again during the last few …

Clear eyes, Full hearts, Can’t lose

Thank you to everyone who has given me so much support since I posted last night – here, on Facebook, and through emails, I am so touched by the level of caring and love I have received.  Thank you.

A couple of weeks ago my friend Becky lent me the first season DVDs of Friday …

The end of a beautiful relationship

This is a post I never, ever wanted to write. But here goes…

On Tuesday evening Mr. Blue Eyes and I decided to end our relationship. It was not a decision that was taken lightly by either of us and I think we’re both a bit heartbroken. Ultimately it was the right decision, but that …
