Cleansing fear

Hello miracle watchers!  Long time, no talk.  🙂

Thank you all so much for your ongoing messages of support and love.  They mean the world to me!  Being with my mom through her cancer treatment experience has been both challenging and wonderful, and I’m sure I’ll have lots to share about it in the months …

A love letter to my mom

Every once in a while my mom will pick up the phone to find me on the other end saying, “I owe you an apology.”

Her response is usually a stammering, “Oh….uh….okay……..?”

One such conversation happened a couple years ago – it was in the early days of The Miracle Journal, and things were opening …

The chicken broth miracle

Hello Miracle Watchers!

I didn’t mean to be away for a whole week, but with the holiday craziness and then getting a nasty stomach bug…well, more days passed than I had expected.  But I’m back!

Truthfully, I’m only about half back. I’ve been in bed for two days trying to keep any kind of food …

Finding my mother again

Those of you who know me know that my mother and I are quite close. Upon reading a title like Finding my mother, your first reaction is probably “I didn’t know you’d lost her.”  Well, neither did I.  Or, to be more precise, until this weekend I didn’t realize quite how close I had come …

Folding a fitted sheet

I just happened to come across this ridiculous video from the Martha Stewart Show about how to fit a folded sheet.  Which made me laugh hysterically because, honest to god, my mother can fold a fitted sheet so no one in the world could tell whether it’s fitted or flat without opening it up.  And …

A Mom weekend

I got to spend most of this weekend with my mom, and it was exactly what I needed.  We hung out, did some work together, and took a couple of really beautiful walks.  It was glorious – bright blue sky, crisp air but not too cold, and plenty of sun. We hung out and had …

Thanksgiving miracles

As I mentioned last night, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  Of course I like to find things to be grateful for each day (hence I write on The Miracle Journal!) but it’s also nice to have an entire day to really focus on what’s best in life.

So tonight I’m thinking about the things in …

The moonlight paddle

Last night my mom and I went on a moonlight canoe trip in northern Vermont.  It was incredibly beautiful territory and we got to watch the moon rise over the river.  Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip:
