A new lease on…everything

You Are Not Alone : Stories from the front lines of womanhood

Once again, I am surprised at how long it has been since I’ve met you here on The Miracle Journal.  These last nine months have been anything but predictable.  But that unpredictability has, in its own way, worked very much in my favor.

Last fall, I was burning the candle at both ends.  In …

Whose voice are you listening to?

too-many-voices

Four weeks ago, I gave myself the gift of taking a blog vacation.  My attitude toward seeing and celebrating miracles hadn’t changed, but my attitude toward sitting down and writing several times a week had – I was feeling tired and uninspired and like I was working too hard for not enough joy.  So I …

Miracles around the interwebs

Screen shot 2013-01-14 at 7.28.18 PM

I finally made it back to work today!  Thankfully I had a lot to do, so the day flew by.  I’m somewhat amazed that I managed to sit up for eight hours straight after spending 90% of my time lying down for 10 days.  I’m so grateful to have had the ability to take that …

Emotional hangover

Integration

Sometimes I write something that I have to go back and read over and over and over again – still trying to process it and integrate it.

Today is one of those days.  I’ve gone back to re-read what I wrote last night at least five times.  Each time I integrate it a little more.  …

A whole MONTH?!?

calgonbath

About 10 days ago I had a conversation with my mom about selling the website business. She asked me if I would let myself take any time off.  It was a fair question, given that she knows my tendency to fill any little space with 16 new ideas and projects.

I considered her question and …

Tuning out, sleeping in

tired_kitty

I have a lot to say and very little energy to say it with.  For the past few weeks, I’ve felt myself sinking into deeper and deeper exhaustion.  I think it started back with the Melissa Jenkins murder, and then the other five murders in quick succession.  It was mentally and emotionally exhausting.  I’ve been …

A sleepless night

Sleeping like a baby

Last night I had a truly sleepless night.  As in I didn’t sleep.  It wasn’t because I was worried, I just laid there awake all night.

Which brings us to today’s miracle: I stayed awake all day.  I was even mildly productive at work today.

And now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m on my way …

The miracle of enough

Last night I put a note up on Facebook saying, “The Miracle Journal is tired from all that adrenaline this week. Taking some time off this weekend! :-)”

A friend responded, “The Miracle of knowing when to say ‘enough’ or ‘not now’ or ‘coming soon to a blog near you’!”

She’s got it exactly right! …
