Completion…and a new beginning

girljumping

I did it!! Yesterday I hit the “send” button and submitted my book proposal. Relief doesn’t even begin to cover what I’m feeling!

So many of you have been cheering me on and supporting me through this process and I can’t possibly thank you enough. It is thanks in part to your support and love …

Living with hope

living-with-hope

Tonight I had the pleasure of being interviewed for the show “Living With Hope” on the Body, Mind & Spirit Network. Trudy Thomas, the host, was delightful and I had a great time!  I’ve posted the audio on the Radio page for your listening pleasure.

One of the things I mentioned during the interview was …

Finding the core

carrot

Recently I found this in a bag of baby carrots:

As I’ve mentioned a few times in the last month or so, I’m going through a period of deep introspection, processing and healing.

When I saw this carrot, it seemed like the perfect embodiment of what I’ve been doing: going straight the core and …

Is the buzzing in my head bothering you?

does_the_noise_in_my_head_bother_you

Today I went to lunch with a new friend – someone I’ve been wanting to get to know for a while, but our schedules hadn’t matched up until today. The beginning of our meeting was hilarious – the restaurant we were going to meet at was closed, she had trouble finding a space to park …

A new writing group

resolutions

Tonight I attended a local writing group for the first time and had a terrific evening. I walked in feeling pretty sad (more on that tomorrow) and by the end of the evening I was laughing hysterically.

We did one exercise where everyone wrote a short paragraph of a story and passed it around the …

One deadline at a time

I usually think these captioned cat things are kinda dumb, but in this case - I'll take the tummy rub.

Back in mid-August I wrote about getting an assignment at the newspaper to do a six-part series on the economy. It was an absolutely terrifying assignment because I know nothing – NOTHING! – about economics.

After stewing in my own juices for a few days, I finally realized that maybe I didn’t have to do …

Taking a stand

standforsomething

Today I had a conversation that sent me into a bit of a tailspin.  Nothing bad, but I saw once again that I have not yet started standing up for myself in business situations as well as I do in personal matters.  I know that it’s a matter of practice, but it still frustrates me …

The miracle of life renewed

bjblogo

This weekend I am honored to be a presenter at a retreat for breast cancer survivors.  I think this is the 4th time that I’ve been a part of this particular event and it makes me happy to see many of the same faces returning each year – it truly is a sisterhood and a …
